Our website is donating the necessary funds to place a full color photo taken by Cheryl Smith of Nayborly Farms in Washington on the cover of the AHR Haflinger Horse magazine to promote a special horse and rider athlete partnership--Chesna Klimek and her gelding Pippin jumping over 4 feet with no bridle or saddle.  The photo deserves to be seen by as many Haflinger enthusiasts as possible.  This fits with the purpose and mission of this promotional website.

January 27, 2006

RFD-TV will have a 30 minute show aired on Haflingers, produced by www.dressage.com and partially sponsored by this website, with a 30 second ad promoting this site, using photos from our many Haflinger Friends.

September 11, 2005

Over 100 Haflinger Friends came to the Lynden NW Haflinger Gathering, some from as far away as Europe, to enjoy a weekend of Haflinger activities, clinics, fellowship and public versatility demonstrations.  It was a great initial reunion of the worldwide Haflinger community and we hope more gatherings will follow.

March 31, 2005

Nearing our second anniversary, with over 50,000 visitors to our home page, we are sponsoring another website contest, this time to encourage attendance at the first Haflinger Friends reunion in Lynden, Washington in September 2005.

November 14, 2004

A number of farms have cooperated to fund a full page color ad in the new Pony Enthusiast magazine for January 2005, promoting this website alongside a feature on the Haflinger breed.

July 22, 2004

We have a new feature "Around the World from the Haflinger Perspective" showing many parts of the world as shown between the ears of a Haflinger.  Check out http://www.haflingerhorses.com/aroundtheworld.htm

May 9, 2004

We are receiving terrific support in sponsorship renewals and new sponsorships to keep this website on line and thriving.  New features are being added regularly to the site to encourage people to return regularly.

March 9, 2004

We will celebrate our first year anniversary with a photo contest on the website, encouraging all Haflinger owners to send in their favorites.  We will have at least 20,000 visits to our website over the course of the first year.

January 3, 2004

Our first evaluation of this website is under way on the Haflinger Friends discussion group with an anonymous poll requesting feedback about how well this website is doing in Haflinger promotion. Calendar sales raised $125 in additional revenue.

November 15, 2003

A 2004 Calendar of BriarCroft Haflinger Horses in performance is now available to help support this website. We are now past 13,000 visitors to the website. A new contest celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Haflinger Friends discussion group is underway, with a Schweisgut Haflinger book as the prize.

October 3, 2003

Thanks to the Moodies of Indiana, and Emily VanderHaak of Maryland, we now have a T shirt that will be sold with net profits coming to support the website!

September 27, 2003

There have been over 2000 visitors in the past month. A second essay contest has concluded with the winner receiving a German Haflinger photo book. A new fundraising effort is underway to raise money for website support, maintenance and promotion--a 2004 Haflinger calendar.

August 21, 2003

Young Rider magazine has come out with the ad for our website and website hits are now nearing 9000 total. The next contest is about to start!

August 5, 2003

Horse Illustrated magazine is now out and our website visits have doubled, with many questions coming to the website about Haflingers. There continues to be new farm sponsorships of the website, and discussions about the next national advertising effort. A second website contest is coming soon!

July 5, 2003

We have surpassed 6000 visits as of this date. Farm sponsorships are making possible the following 1/4 page B&W ad in the September issue of Horse Illustrated and Oct/Nov issue of Young Rider magazines.

June 27, 2003

In 10 weeks, there have been over 5500 visits to our home page. Sponsorships continue to come in as Haflinger owners/breeders acknowledge and support the need for a promotional website. There have been requests from the international Haflinger community to have an opportunity to advertise on this site as well and this is under consideration.

May 31, 2003

Our first contest has been launched as the sponsorships continue to come in daily, and that allows support for continued promotional efforts. We also have hit #5 on the Google Search engine for "Haflinger Horses" which brings new people to our site. A new versatility photo page has been welcomed with many photos from our website visitors and fellow Haflinger enthusiasts.

May 20, 2003

Questions from the general public are coming into this site now, so the search engines are starting to point people here, and daily hits continue to surpass 100. Sponsorships for the site from Haflinger farms and individuals have been continuing to come in, so there is now the possibility of advertising the site in national magazines, with the first planned ad to be in the August issue of Horse Illustrated. This is an excellent opportunity to promote the breed to people who are unfamiliar with Haflingers and need an easy to use site to find Haflingers close to them.

May 5, 2003

A foal announcement page has been added for photos of 2003 foals. At least two Haflingers have been sold from ads placed on this site in its first 3 weeks--so there are Haflinger buyers who are finding this site already!

The site has now been submitted to 400 search engines, with the hope of seeing more visits from people doing a search on Haflingers.

Feedback from website users resulted in eliminating the opinion page as it was viewed by a number of people as not beneficial to the promotion of Haflingers and there are lots of opportunities for expression of opinion and debate about Haflinger issues on the discussion group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/haflingerfriends so this site will be kept as free from controversy as possible!

April 24, 2003

The site has been up two weeks and has over 1000 hits to the home page and hundreds of hits to the various sub-pages and features offered. From the comments that have been received, this was a project long overdue.

A number of people are asking how to sponsor the site to help with the expenses. If you would like to see this site continue, you can contribute $25 to the cause by sending a check to Emily Gibson, 1613 Central Road, Everson, WA 98247. Your name and farm with a link will be featured on the sponsor list on the home page. Only twelve sponsors a year are needed to make ends meet, so any sponsorships over that will be put in an account to fund special give-aways and contests from this site. It is always intended to remain non-profit, for the benefit of Haflinger owners.

A number of super ideas have been forwarded already and new pages developed in response. If you have something about Haflingers you have always wanted to see on the web, please contact Emily at emily@haflingerhorses.com.

April 10, 2003

This website has been "in the works" for months, with the plan to offer a "one stop" place on the web for Haflinger information, events calendar, news and announcements, website links and ads for registered Haflingers, breeding stallions and Haflinger related tack, equipment, books and other items. It is to be free to all users. Some of the information provided on this site has been previously published on the Haflinger Friends internet discussion group, a rich resource of Haflinger information since 1999.

Material submitted for publication on this website will be gratefully received, and will be reviewed by the host and sponsoring farms prior to publication.

New ideas for this website are gratefully received. If there is something you'd like to see on this site that isn't already here, let me know.

Sponsorship of this website for $25 a year will help offset the expenses of the server space. Any sponsoring farm or organization will be featured on the home page with a website link. Contact Emily about arranging a sponsorship. All sponsor farms will be asked to help review material submitted to the site for publication.

As is the case with any advertising forum, this website host and any website sponsors cannot be held responsible for anything that is offered for sale on this site, and any buyer is responsible for determining for themselves if the claims made by the seller are honest, accurate, and true. Do your research before buying!
